I provide medico-legal assessment and reports in the area of adult mental health. I offer effective psychological intervention and treatment when it is recommended as part of the medico-legal process. I have completed parts 1&2 of the British Psychological Society Expert Witness Programme.
I offer consultation in the area of staff well-being, stress management, resilience, motivation and burn out. As a trained Mindfulness practitioner I can offer workshops on Mindfulness for staff that can improve individual health and well-being generally, as well as mental health in the workplace. Having a healthy, vibrant, committed and resilient team is essential and I can help you achieve this through a process of consultation of your needs and design bespoke training to meet those needs.
I am available for clinical consultation on specific issues in the area of adult mental health, staff well-being, staff training including training needs analysis, research, evaluation and outcome.
Team Supervision and Reflective Practice
I am available for group supervision or facilitation of reflective practice groups. An independent supervisor or facilitator has a number of benefits for your agency as it provides an impartial support mechanism for staff. Having an independent supervisor provides your staff and your agency an objective perspective, which can encourage motivation, a sense of being valued, cohesion, team building, critical thinking and sharing of knowledge, skills and ideas.
Teaching and Lecturing
I am an experienced university lecturer with over 12 years teaching experience at Ulster University and the Open University, in the area of counselling and psychology at undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD levels. I have held the position of Course Director of an undergraduate counselling degree programme for several years. I am passionate about teaching and learning and enjoy igniting enthusiasm and curiosity in others. I enjoy helping others realise their full potential. I welcome the opportunity to share my knowledge of theory and practice with others. I have attained a postgraduate qualification in higher education practice (PGCHEP) and am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I am available for teaching, guest lecturing and training.
